Dushnisky will join AngloGold in September, ending the search to replace Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan, who left the world's third-biggest gold miner in April to run India's Vedanta.

Law firm leading the action says it has more than 3,000 investors signed up to pursue the miner for losses.

The $502-million transaction makes the Chinese company Arab Potash's majority shareholder.
